Well I just got back from my first session with the physio.

What a total waste of space she is.

I turned up and she asked my to raise my arm as high as i could from a standing position, firstly out infront of my torso and then out to the side.

She then disappeared for 5 mins and came back with excercise sheets (ALL THE WRONG ONES) which she didnt talk through or give me.

Told me to keep doing arm raises for the next week.

She ended the session after doing nothing by telling me that she was going on holiday for the next 2 weeks and my next appointment will not be until the 5th of August. (3 long weeks away)

I asked her if she could give me next weeks excercises today and would start them on the 15th of July (Next Wednesday) She told me "NO!"

On top of all of this I'm having to wait an extra week to get my staples removed because that specialist is on holiday.

Im a teacher and people say I have too many holidays but when do the staff at North Tees do any work! And why assign me to a physiotherapist who is going to be away for 3 weeks. It seems so stupid.

Best of luck mate. I had a wee problem with calcium but that beauty decided to leave of its own accord through a different exit. Threw up over myself while driving home from work and passed out a few times before the out-of-hours doc told me on the phone to get to A&E.--

Not a nice thing. Keep up the good work and always remember to ask for second opinions.

I started doing resistance excercises today with a Theraband. After borrowing one from JET186 I went and found a shop that sold the right type at a good price.

Its amazing how my shoulder feels after excercising it. Every morning after rest it feels slightly better then after a couple of exercise sessions by 10am it feels so much better every day.

Out of curiosity I decided to try hold my bow today with my arm out at right angels. I managed it with no pain so put my longrod on and tried again. I also managed to hold that out for 10-15 seconds. Still no pain.

I wondered should I draw my compound? Its set at 57lb...after pondering I thought sod it and drew the bow back. Amazing no pain again.

Before I shoot Im going to wind the bow right down to 50lb and take some of the weight off the longrod. I need to restrain my self now and wait, which is the hardest part.

But I am gobsmacked at how the human body after being sliced and diced can heal its self in such a short amount of time.

Sounds like good progress. As you said, take it slow - I'm sure you'd rather it take longer to heal than go pear shaped and put you out of action for another 8 weeks.

If you wanted to soften your bow up even more (assuming I'm not mixing brands) you could get the soft mod installed instead of a speed mod, although that might be Matthews.

3 days until I get my staples out. I really cant wait. I changed my dressing last night and the scar has healed very neat but around the scar is so inflamed and sore where the staples are now pulling and its not starting to reel good.

I have been told that staples should be removed after around 10 days. Mine have been in 18 and out after 21. If I get an infection in them now Im so gonna kick off. Again all this discomfort because the specialist is on holiday for 2 weeks. And my physio is on holiday for 2 weeks so no new excercises or consultation for another 24 days. This really sucks.

Steady now. Dont make me laugh too hard or you bickering will split my stiches. (staples...) If you wanna slag someone off blame the NHS for being unorganised. If I did this kind of sloopy timekeeping and planning at my school I would be in so much trouble.

"Oh Im sorry i cant mark your coursework before the exam deadline because im going on holiday"

The scar may look a bit roar, and the staples discomforting, but you'll get there. I had an Op 15 years ago which gave me 39 of those staples in the shape of a question mark on my head. Looked pretty untidy at the time but its amazing how time heals....Take care...
