Hello, all!
I have been reading this forum time ago (this forum and archerytalk are the bests places that I've found for information about archery); I would prefer other kind of first post; but, unfortunatelly, this is not the case. Short version of the story: arrows cut one inch below asked, only half of paid points sent, wrong points sent. Long version of the story: I try to buy several new arrows before the begining of year; I have a new bow -a border bow, really impressive, and I am really happy with the atention and care of Sid, and the quality of the bow-; but my older arrows does not fit; and I need to test right arrows for the competition, that begin again in january. Recommended arrows for that bow are 2212 X7 cobalt arrows. This is not the problem. I know several people that uses them here. I am not quite sure if is best using 100gr or 85gr points, so I think that saunders combo points would be the best. They allows me to test which works bests on open field, and using the same arrows to shoot indoors on January -I have better points for that that can be used in a 22-- tube-. That is not the point, so far I have used them before. I know where to find the points and the inserts in Spain, but mail costs are over 25$, and I prefer to buy on the same place than the arrows. That is not the point. The point, the mistake, is that I choose to buy from yeoldearcheryshoppe The same day that I put the order, Nancy Huff send me an e-mail like this: Mr. Orcero, The arrows that you have ordered require nibb glue in points. would you like for me to substitute the Saunders combo Points for the Correct Nibb Points? I have placed your order on hold until we have heard from you. I said that I want saunders combo point. Welcome to yeoldearcheryshoppe customer service. At first, this looked that worked, so far Laura Huff writes 11/25: 7472212D-Inserts Send Combo Points that he ordered. Ok, they have found the right insert, so OK. But... You know that there is times where you know that something is not working... That was my feeling, that was confirmed when I received the following message on 12/03: Replacement 100 grain nibb points for combo points ordered $10.95 1 pkg sent. No!!! I do not want nibb points!!! I call by phone, I talk with them. Ok, saunders combo points. I send to them, mail after mail, that I do not want nibb points; and they seemed that they where going to sent what I have paid for. But in 12/11 (yes... they are sooooo professional...): We are sending you what we have been told will work. We have asked one of our techs & also called Easton Finnaly, I received 1dz of 100 grains nibb points. I have paid 1dz 100 grains saunders combo points, and 1dz 85 grains saunder combo points. I have paid for items that I have not received. I have received cheaper components... 14-10, so 4$ cheaper. Good business. But for them. And they DO know what they were doing, so far they discount 0,99 by arrow for preinstaling the inserts... thank God, I would have to take out all points on new arrows. They positively knew that I did not wanted nibb points, by my phone calls, by my mails, so they did not glue them. But, If their work (mis)ethic forbid them to send nibb points... better do not send to me anything and to return the money for the points. The points are useless: I do not want to glue points to do the tests, and I do not want to glue points to allow to me to change them for different competitions. It is not the dollar that I have lost -14$, plus a long transcontinental phone call-, but the feeling of being ripped off. I have talked with them by phone, sent lots of e-mail, and in all I send one message clear: do not send nibb points. I have struggled and fighted to get what I have paid for. And I lost. They send to me a cheaper mercancy that I did not want to buy, and for the money that those things that I wanted And I am thousands of miles from them (I live in Spain) so I can not go in person to solve anything. Anyway, I strongly doubt that this would work. Update: things got worse. I have open the arrow box. I asked arrows cut at 30.5'', and they have cut them at 29.5'' This means that the arrows are completly useless. I have throw by the WC 208$ because I bought to those guys!!! I will _never_ buy again on yeoldearcheryshoppe. And you are warned because this could happend to you: they will not send to you what you want and you have paid for, but that they want so send. yeoldearcheryshoppe way of selling. You have my sympathy...
In contrast, I bought some stuff from Quicks, including a shaft taper tool...it didn't cut, I tinkered with it, it still didn't cut...I phoned 'em up and told 'em. I suggested the part was molded on a worn out mold tool and asked if they could send me a replacement but of the slightly cheaper model as it looked a better design. OK it was only a few pounds, but they sent the replacement free of charge and didn't even bother asking for the return of the old one. Good old fashioned service where they realised I actually knew what I was talking about and didn't assume I was trying to swindle them out of a couple of pounds. Better luck in future, and happy shooting in 2009. Del |

Thank you for your kind words.

As far as I have to look for something that is hard to found in Spain, it is excelent to know trusted sites to buy all things needed. And exchaging information about this is excelent for us, the archers -and really bad for non-trustable sellers-. A happy new year, and good shots in 2009! |
