quadro plus v x -seeker
Hi
I shoot a quadro plus on my compound at the moment, would an x-seeker suit me too. I think the mid-weight is what makes the quadro work so well for me, but am concerned that the seeker hasn't got one. I'm always in the market to try and buy a couple more points, and was wondering what the differences were thanks B Sponsored Links 20 x 60cm Economy Target Faces: £5.00 36 x Plastifletch Arrow Fletchings £3.00 |

Hey Bill
Well the basic reason for the move away from the multi rod system is that we could not make the system any stiffer. Our research along with the current trends told us that to improve the performance the rods needed to be stiffer. So we designed the X-Seeker. I have passed this over to our engineer Keith and he is going to compile a brief quadro v seeker piece and post it up in the next couple of days. Cheers Rohan |

Hi Bill
There are so many variables in a modern setup from bow type, speed, poundage to the ones that are much harder to quantify such as the archers grip and style. With all of this it would be false for us to say “of course it will suit you” I don’t think any company can say that. Like arrows the stabilisers have to be tuned to suit your variables and your feel. We can say that people who have switched to the X-Seekers have had great results and positive feedback. Glad to hear that the Quadro-plus is working for you, there are a few differences apart from the obvious multi-rod Vs solid. Static Balance As you mentioned, the Quadro had much more of is mass spread along its length, it's also has a much higher mass overall (380g for the one I have here). This will have the effect of making the bow more stable at full draw in the same way as a heavier riser will. The X-Seeker on its own is lighter (180g for a 35”), keeping the majority of the mass out away from the bow at the end weights. If you like the added weight in your hand then either weights on the riser, or a heavy extender such as the X-Tend. ![]() X-Tend & X-Seeker Combination There are a few documents out there by various authors outlining how to find the Centre of Gravity (COG) of your system. If you wanted the exact same balance from a new set of stabilisers this could be a good approach. It will take a bit of trial and error but it can be done. A couple of other differences not related to the mass of the rods: Stiffness This is where the comparison a little more difficult, the Quadro-Plus changes stiffness as you adjust the length. Starting with the rod as short as you can make it, it is a very stiff 25" rod & Extended it's a softer 37" rod. At positions between these, the rod has a soft area near the bow, then a stiff part where the parts cross and then a soft part again. For people who don't know the Quadro-Plus With the X-Seeker, the stiff area is close to the bow (High Modulus Carbon) and the rest of the rod is slightly more flexible. Overall it acts stiffer on the bow than it feels bending it over your knee due to this zoning. The Carbon Weave blend to the High Modulus Carbon Damping The Quadro-Plus (and most other multi-rod stabilisers) have the advantage of tuning the frequency of different areas of the rod by moving the sliders/tuners. But how many people really do this? The X-Seeker makes use of the weave in the materials to damp vibrations along with the changes in stiffness along its length. Take a look at what AIUK posters have said about how the rods feel and also the equipment reviews in Bow International (Ed. 56 August 09) and The Glade (May 09). Hope this covers at least some of you question, if you have any other questions please feel free to ask Thanks Keith |
