AFB Anchor

I'm a compound archer so bear with me.

A friend of mine has his own land and has bought an AFB and a foam target to shoot at.

He has done some internet searches and wants to know if he is shooting filed style (animal paper faces) should he be anchoring to the corner of his mouth or some it looks like his eye is looking down the nock of the arrow?

I've never shot anything without wheels so cannot answer him.

He only wants to shoot for a bit of fun and has massive field to shoot in so isn't gonna need a club, coaching or worry about the safety of others...

Middle finger corner of mouth is ok as long as its backed up with more solid locator top finger on cheek bone or groove of thumb on jaw bone. Shooting AFB is no different from Recurve, solid anchor, good extension and follow through.

Some good DVDs on Trad shooting available, Masters of Barebow being the best and also covers different aiming methods like Instict,Gap and POA. Byron Ferguson "Become the arrow" is also pretty good

As Steve said,

I use the knuckle of my first finger underneath my cheekbone and middle finger in the corner of my mouth.
