EFAA direct membership?

I'm thinking of joining the EFAA, but next to "Club" on the membership form is the word "essential". I'd have difficulty getting to an EFAA club very often, so would prefer not to join one. Does anyone know whether it's possible to affiliate directly to the EFAA without being a member of a club?

No, it's not, you have to be part of a club. However, most clubs, if you ask nicely, will let you join them for a quid or so and you can then get your EFAA membership.

Why d'you want to shoot EFAA anyway? The only club I can think of round your neck of the woods is Oakleaf, and they're the far side of the Pennines...

Pete - field archery but all marked distances and done in yards. Have a look: welsh field archery association

I'm an independent member of the EFAA, so yes you can join without being a member of a club. But as the nearly dead person said, where will you shoot EFAA rounds, most clubs are in the south and west midlands.

Shirt's nearly dead??? Good lord!

Watchman has very kindly arranged for me to be a member of Friskney for EFAA purposes. Unfortunately I'll be one of those club members who never turns up for work parties, but I certainly intend to get there and elsewhere for shoots. Cheers!
